Page Notes - This page presently lists most insects commonly encountered in Hawaiian aquatic environments, with the exception of dipterans (flies, midges, mosquitos). For many species, only the juvenile forms are truely aquatic, although in such cases (e.g., dragonflies) the adults are most often found near water.
