TRANSECT RESULTS
Transects are used to document or quantify physical or biological conditions in selected parts of Kawa Stream. Figure 1 is a plot along the thalweg (deepest part of the channel) for Kawa Stream central branch and lower west branch, beginning 50 m upstream from their confluence and continuing to a point 110 m downstream from the confluence. In this plot, the elevation values are arbitrary (close to actual but not surveyed to a known elevation), but correct relative to each other. Approximate locations of sampling Stations 012L and 012R are indicated. This area at the confluence is shown in a photograph. Note, on the graph, the steady rise of the concrete channel on the lower west branch above Station 012L.
