  Dear Mr. Guinther,

On November 5, 1998, the Hawaii Audubon Society will hold its
Fifth Annual Awards Dinner where we will honor Society volunteers,
public servants, and corporate leaders who have contributed to
protecting Hawai`i's environment. The dinner will be held at McCoy
Pavillion, Ala Moana Park, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. We would like to
honor you at that dinner with the Society's Corporate Conservation
Award for the long-term educational and conservation contributions
to the community provided by AECOS through their high standards of
quality in environmental management activities and as demonstrated
by the effort they expend in maintaining a lively and informative
website conveying educational and timely data related to Hawai`i's
  environment.

We would like to invite you and a guest, or your
representative, to attend the dinner at our expense to accept the
award. Following the dinner and the awards presentation, there
will be a lecture and slide show on the restoration of Kaho`olawe
by Paul Higashino, Restoration Ecologist for the Kaho`olawe Island
Reserve Commission, and then a panel of long-time Society members
will fill us in on Society history we have forgotten or never knew.

Please let us known if you (or your representative) will be
  able to attend.

                                      Sincerely,
                                          [signed]

                                      Linda M. B. Paul
                                      President
